The annulus of a mature (brown gills) C. caperatus sits much lower on the stipe. The PV remnants seen here are near the apex. I don’t think 288297 is the Gypsy Mushroom.

It does have a veil

and it could have been white before it got covered with rusty spores.
C. caperatus appears to be a good possibility.
