Clavariadelphus sp.
Probably pistillaris, the pestle-shaped coral. This looks more like a mortar than a pestle, though- sim. to truncatus, the more edible. Found in deciduous forest. however. stained slightly brown? did not taste bitter but also didn’t taste sweet. will eat!
