A few in mulch under oak in a landscaped bed. Largest: 5.0 cm. X 4.5 cm. X 3 cm. high; small pseudobase; surface bruises pinkish-purple. Rind = 1 mm. thick in mature specimens, turns pinkish-purple when sliced. Spore mass is black with white “threads” throughout,
