Notes:
Found growing on decaying hardwood log along the Appalachian Trail near Tellico Gap, NC.
Brownish orange Cap, Rusty orange spores on caps and annular zone. Thin annulus left on stipe.

On looking up the name Pholiota multifolia, I will say, it does seem like a good fit. I did notice that it was once listed as Gymnopilus multifolius, and my initial thought was that this was a Gymnopilus. I also notice that species fungorum has the current name as Pleuroflammula multifolia, but that name doesn’t show up in the index of names on MO. I have not read any papers on where this actually belongs or which name is correct and current. Just adding notes for reference, and in case anyone knows more about the correct name for this.
