Found on a tree along the Appalachian Trail north of the NOC on the hike up to Cheoah Bald. Pale pinkish upper surface, white pores, fluid dripping from pore surface.

What about Inonotus? Maybe something like Inonotus quercustris?

I’m unsure what the tree species was, but i think it was some type of hardwood. There do appear to be what might be oak leaves on a nearby tree in the picture, but not Live Oak, though it may have been an oak tree that was alive. I wish I had taken notes, but I was on a cross country trek and didn’t document very well.
