I noticed the yellow staining too. It was rather vivid in fact.
on cap and base of stipe. Certainly looks like C. subalbidus, but I’ve never seen the yellowish-orange stain before. Leaching from the Lithocarpus leaves? Wonder if it tastes, uh, leathery? That said, I wish I had some. I much prefer C. subalbidus to C. formosus.
