I really have no idea what this is and need help. Right in the middle is the forked tip of what looks like maybe a Clavulina? Or Ramaria? Is it possible the entire fungi has been infested with a secondary fungi of some sort. Helminthosphaeria clavariarum? There are two stalks that come together and can be seen if you look closely. Very fragile
Deep very old second growth forest next to small stream. Mostly fir trees and sword ferns
