Recognized by sight: Roughly size and shape of average rufulus, but with a different orange brown color that is difficult to describe but distinct. Taste very peppery after a few seconds, with a strong bitter aftertaste. Milk thick, white and unchanging. Pine associated. Did not have a “candy cap” scent or any real odor. Cap smooth and dry, not sticky. Stipe almost hollow. Known location for this species.
