Growing on a well-rotted fallen Tsuga canadensis. Cap and stem viscid. Purple tints of upper stem and gills faded fairly quickly after picking.

Probably not C. cyanophilla sensu stricto

This is not particularly close to the European sequences. It appears to be the same species as a collection from New Jersey from Joel Horman. It seems like the eastern North American “Chromosera cyanophylla” really is an unnamed species, as has been suggested before
