Observation 296723: Hohenbuehelia Schulzer

Notes:
likely an undescribed species. A botanist from La Paz studying the impact of the phytopathogenic fungus, Leptosphaeria polylepidis, Arely N. Palabral Aguilera, had mentioned seeing some sort of mushroom growing out of this unlikely substrate, but never collected it.

Substrate: emergeing from living “Yareta” (Azorella compacta)

Habitat: high-Andean Polylepis (“Queñoa”) forest

Ecoregion: Central Andean Dry Puna (NT1001)

Collectors: L. Gallagher & G. Robledo

Collection #: SAJA003
