Growing in leaf litter in mixed hardwood/pine woods.

Cap. Largest, ca 2.5-3.0” diameter; deep brown with beige warts.
Gills, close; some very short gills
Stipe. Approximately 0.5 inch diameter at base. White with fine brown fibrils near apex, becoming larger near base. Tapering from narrow at apex to wider at the base. No annulus. Stipe breaking easily above base; no enlarged base.
