Russula stuntzii

This one looks a lot like observation 2162. At that time we found a few
hundred of these, so it was easier to compare them at different ages. In
Theirs’ Russula monograph it was pretty easy to id, since he says that
bright white gills with almost colorless cap and acrid taste should only
be R. stuntzii or R. cremoricolor. Also the slight grey color, with sometimes
slight very light purple tones was well described.
Russula stuntzii looks like a good fit except for the forking in the gills. It keys straight to R. stuntzii in the Thiers key.
