No specimen available

Found fruiting on a decaying log (deciduous tree) in bottomland woods prone to flooding. No conifers present. Have three specimens which were easily removed. They seemed quite fresh, soft and rubbery. Specimen shown in observation was about 12 cm. across and about 4 cm. in height. Caps fused together. The wood still attached to the specimen beneath shows white.

Thanks for looking at my observation and proposing a name. I have seen Trametopsis cervina in that park before. This find was fresher. I do think that this is a “could be”. Appreciate your help! Sylvia
