Recognized by sight: Fruiting body tough, bracket like, and fleshy, growing on a dead tree, pore surface exposed, fruiting body has caps, spore-bearing surface comprised of a tube layer, surface is covered in multi-colored bands, pores are not maze-like, pore surface gray to white, cap is thin, tough, and pliant, fruiting body not bruised when handled, surface of cap is velvety but with smooth zones.
