Bright pink, dry cap-infundibuliform. Gills – extremely decurrent, oval shaped(almost pore like) towards center of stem. ODOR: Distinct- similar to a matsutake without the piney musk; like red hots candy, sweet.
Fruiting singularly beneath Douglas fir, hemlock and western red cedar.
