Notes:
Very large fruiting body for a Kurotake(Boletopsis). Fruiting beneath old growth Douglas fir and young western hemlock saplings. Mature fruiting body- pores are larger than in most young collections I have, stem retaining white cast, pore surface retaining white cast near stipe apex. Taste- bitter, similar to a Gymnopilus.
