Looks like only the two I’ve never seen — S. humboldtii and S. ferax — are green. S. humboldtii is conspicuously hairy. S. ferax looks promising; I can’t rule it out based on photo (http://tinyurl.com/ykky5vk). Sometimes the cyphellae are very inconspicuous.

Ooooh, but Lobaria subdissecta also looks promising, at least when young.

Thank you for your comment. I checked costarican registered species for Sticta and no one meets this type I had published. Have to make some research on it.

Registered costarican Sticta species at INBIO at this moment are

cf. weigelii (Ach.) Vain.
ferax Müll. Arg.
fuliginosa (Hoffm.) Ach.
humboldtii Hook.
weigelii (Ach.) Vain.

I know nothing of Costa Rica’s flora, but… couldn’t these also be Sticta? Just a thought.
