Notes:
Growing gregariously under Quercus spp. near Ostrya virginiana and potentially other ECM hardwoods on a ridge top. Growing gregariously. Often partially buried in leaf litter. Very abundant. Probably hundreds of fruiting bodies present on a single ridge top. Caps sticky. Stems dry. Gills bruising pink/red. Odor like “old people smell”. Taste farinose. White spored.
