Probably going with Suillus is best, so I downranked to “could be” granulatus. It does look like the stipe is yellowing near the apex, and I can faintly see what look maybe like glandular dots, but indeed it is tough to tell. I was going mainly by gestault since that species group is abundant in our area and often ends up looking something like this. I actually first keyed in on the color of the cap!

I considered S. granulatus but dismissed it do to a lack of granules on the stipe, and didn’t consider proposing a group.
