Observation 299695: Amanita stirps Sororcula

Growing near Quercus sp., Carya sp., Pinus sp., non-ECM hardwoods. No annulus. Odor indistinct. Did not notice a staining reaction. Did not write down notes on the volva but there appear to be grayish volval fragments present on one stem in the image.

I can’t be sure, but the colors seem oranger or redder than in (e.g.) texasorora.
