When: 2017-11-19

Collection location: Cook Forest State Park, Pennsylvania, USA [Click for map]

Who: Lauren Hudgins (lhudgins)

No specimen available

Notes:
Found by my sister near the junction of Tom’s Run Road and Brown’s Run.

This is a particularly odd stinkhorn because it is growing on the tree. My sister said it felt much more firm that most stinkhorns. The weather had been freezing the night before.

I’ve never seen a stinkhorn sprouting from a tree. Nice find!
