Notes:
Collected from redwood boards in a rural yard with oaks and grey pine.

Thallus not evident to barely some granular lumps maybe. Apothecia common, tiny (<<0.5mm), starting plane with a tan thalline margin, becoming convex with a reduced to absent margin. Disks reddish brown, rough. Hymenium hyaline, hypothecium hyaline, epihymenium reddish brown, becoming light brown in K. Amphithecium with thick algae at base, probably has algae in margin of young apothecia, cortex seems to be present but can’t tell if its thicker below. Epihymenium POL+ few orange crystals, amphithecium filled with bright white crystals. POL+ crystals soluble in K.

Spores simple, hyaline, ellipsoid.
10.4×3.5µm
11.4×3.8µm
10.0×4.2µm

Compare with observation 299313, which seems to be a different species in this complex. Need a better section view of young apothecia and amphithecium to look at cortex features.
