In the field I did not notice the repeated forking of the thick-edged gills. Gills are unusually deep/broad for C. umbonata. Also, caps were planar without umbo. I thought I had found Clitocybe trulliformis. Amyloid spores proved otherwise. Then I took a close look at the photos.

In moss under pine.


Increase observed spore dimensions by 17%.
