Was growing on a downed log along a trail. Predominantly coniferous forest, with douglas fir, hemlock, and western red cedar. Lots of very obvious Fomitopsis pinicola growing around, and I wonder if this might be one.


After it dried off for a couple days, the colors on the surface came out a lot better.
Pretty sure it is not Ganoderma applanatum, because there is a healthy fresh tube layer, but no dark layer underneath.
Found growing a couple feet above the forest floor on a downed log. I’m not sure what the log was, but you can see the bark in this picture.
