Observation 300964: Chlorencoelia J.R. Dixon

Drab green cup fungus growing on rotting wood (under bark). The cups were about 1-4 mm across and were growing in small clusters. The larger ones were green, while the tiny ones were sometimes orange or yellow. Cups seemed to flatten with age.

and especially any cup fungi, for which microscopy is often essential.

I’ll go back and see if it’s still there. If it is, I have a scope. Wish I had collected some yesterday, but I never know which fungi need to be checked under a scope. I should probably just collect samples of anything questionable in the future! Thanks for your comment.
