I wasn’t looking carefully for cystidia. To get them isolated, you try to mount a very small amount of tissue and spread it out by putting pressure on the cover slip. You can usually spread it out further by lifting the cover slip, putting some more KOH, removing some of the tissue, and pressing again. This can be repeated, but the cells will tend to lose their shape.
Cystidia and basidia? How did you get them isolated from the gill edge like that?
