As I was walking a jobsite at the Hays County Dispatch to locate some benchmarks for construction I noticed a singular mushroom growing in the grass… with a very tough stem..

Habitat in grass.
Well-spaced, white or buff gills that are attached to the stem but do not run down it.
Pale tan caps that are broadly bell-shaped or have a central bump.
Tough, pliant stem.
