Observation 302183: Hebeloma (Fr.) P. Kumm.

Fruiting bodies growing in a cluster among moss and needle litter on a creek bank at the base of a Tsuga canadensis. Pinus strobus, Fagus grandifolia and Quercus sp. also present in the area. Caps slimy and did not seem to be hygrophanous. Odor potato-like. Taste farinose. Stems with hollow, pith centers and pruina forming horizontal ridges. Gills with white fimbriate edges and possible tears. Did not notice rhizomorphs or cortinas.
