Collected with Stephen Russell. Growing gregariously on the edge of a trail in sand among grasses and herbaceous plants. Sassafras albidum and Quercus sect. Lobatae nearby. Cap and stem dry. Not bruising. Odor indistinct. Keyed out to Hygrocybe parvula but best BLAST match for the duplicate was Hygrocybe Cantharellus.
