Lazlo Nagy has published on this group, so I asked him about my observation and he said "Indeed looks like C. lagopus, if the best blast hit is C. lagopus then I would feel OK calling it that. In our study (Mycologia 2012) we found multiple well-supported clades within C. lagopus, but morphological differences could not be seen, so we did not describe them as separate species.

This collection could represent one of these ‘phylogenetic’ species.
