When: 2009-12-18
Collection location: Mount Vision Rd., Point Reyes National Seashore, Marin Co., California, USA [Click for map]
Who: Virgil (Zircon5)
Notes:
There was a multitude of these beautiful Boletes growing under the Manzanitas. Similar looking to the King Bolete, easy to mistake it upon first viewing in the wild. However, the stalk is easily recognizable as it is too thin for a King Bolete. Also, there was some blue staining (very little) and the caps were slightly slimy.
