Observation 305735: Psathyrella (Fr.) Quél.

When: 2018-01-08

Collection location: San Ramon, California, USA [Click for map]

Who: hollygospritely

No specimen available

Growing in a San Ramon public park on some woodchips around ornamental trees (pepper tree was the only one I recognized.) Not much scent, staining or bruising. Largest cap was at 1 in and was heavily striated with gray stripes on mousey brown background. Delicate hollow stems, off white. Inky black spore stain.

Upon drying, the color lightened to a very pale brown/taupe. Edges were darker than the cap.
