Lactarius/Lactifluus. Cap was pinkish tan, soft, and deeply indented. Stipe was white, especially towards the base. Gills were cream-colored and slowly produced clear milk. I pressed on the gills, and only a couple of small drops slowly leaked out. I kept hiking and returned to this mushroom ~10 minutes later to find that more liquid had leaked out and the gills were getting a bit mushy in that spot. The mushroom was growing on the ground in a mixed, but mostly deciduous forest.
