This lichen was large, green, and extensively branched. It had a flat primary thallus with a secondary upright stalk, which forms a second thallus. The second thallus, which is called the podetium, is extensively branched. Bunches of it were growing on the ground in a wet, mostly deciduous forest with lots of oak and birch.
