Pileus: 7 cm long x 5.5 cm wide, broadly oval, bottom of cap tightly attached to stipe, hollow, yellow with pits and ridges arranged randomly.

Stipe: 6.5 cm long x 3-4 cm wide, apex and base swollen, centrally narrowed, with several pleats, smooth, cream, hollow.
Spore Print: yellow-orange.

Spores: 16-21 µm long x 5-12 µm wide, oblong, roughened and bumpy, many apparently with collapsed monostratous wall (found directly after heavy rains – see pictures), inamyloid.

Habitat: directly under tulip poplar, mostly oak surrounding, also some hickories, in a group of 3 or 4, others being somewhat larger.
