Growing under old oak trees, pushing through moss at the top of a ridge in a dense mixed hardwood/coniferous forest in NW Georgia (Gordon County), US.

Very subtle olive green/gray reaction to iron salts (on pileus and fertile surface).
Stipes solid/meaty throughout. Pale yellow/orange in color.
