Growing beside Quercus michauxii. Very viscid/sticky when wet. Margin striate/strongly tuberculate. Cuticle peeling about halfway. Gills attached, slightly notched; forking present near stipe, white/close. Stipe firm, older specimens’ stipe becoming crumbly/hollow. Stipe clavate, sometimes tapering at base, exhibiting brown bruising. Spore deposit whitish/pale cream.
