Fruiting body ~20cm wide and fleshy, composed of at least 3 overlapping caps. Growing on the ground near a dead live oak. Pores decurrent with the stipe, and staining dark brown when bruised. Spores hyaline, spherical to oval with a distinct hilar appendage, 4.5-5 × 4.5-5.5um. No reaction with Melzer’s.
