The more material, the better, but I understand you may want to keep most of these for yourself. Perhaps you can part with 1/2 of a mature fruitbody (sectioned lengthwise) so that I can add it to my herbarium. I appreciate your generosity.
How big are these? Can you measure cap diameter & thickness, stipe length & width (apex, middle and at base), and hymenial (tube) depth and post these dimension here?
Yes, please post more pix!
A word of caution — consuming some species of bluing boletes has been linked to adverse gastrointestinal events. Since we cannot ID these confidently, I would refrain from eating them.
Thanks — IGS

I could send you a sample; would you like an entire fruit body or a partition. I could also take more pictures since I brought them home in case they were a good edible bolete. Let me know. Thank you very much.

Narrowing it down…

Well, it looks like a new one to me as far as I can tell, but it bears some resemblance to obs 264291. I would put this broadly into Neoboletus despite the pore surface color.
I’ve already sent you a request for a sample via MO. Perhaps if this gets sequenced, we can propose a better ID.

Obviously it is a bolete

Can you narrow it down further based on pics and location? Thanks.
