Habitat: Growing at the top of a ridge in a dense mixed hardwood/coniferous forest in NW Georgia (Gordon County), US.

Flavor: Unpleasant. Astringent.

Pileus: Dry. Chestnut brown. DNS. Dark brown on KOH application. Changes to dark green around edges after several minutes (see photos). Orange on ammonia application.

Flesh: Yellow. DNS. Changes to brown/dark orange on KOH application. Changes to dark yellow/olive on ammonia application. See photos.

Fertile surface: Bright yellow pores. DNS. Change to cinnamon with age.

Stipe: Yellow, ridge. Orange tones near apex. Darker brown tones towards base. DNS.

Flesh reactions: KOH (left)-Dark orange/brown. Iron salts (center)- no reaction. Ammonia (right)-olive green to orange transition.
KOH on pileus. Not sure where other photo went, but this slowly turns to a deep green around the edges after several minutes.
