On smooth bark of younger coast live oak (Quercus agrifolia) trunk, about a mile from the ocean above El Capitan State Park.

Thallus light grey, rimose crust, K+Y. Apothecia are pale, from greyish to light peachy orange, always plane, with a persistent raised white thalline margin that is K+Y. Epihymenium is dark brown with small POL+ yellowish crystals soluble in K. Amphithecium with a pocket of large POL+ crystals that are not soluble in K. Amphithecial cortex present.

Spores 8/ascus, simple, hyaline, broadly ellipsoid. About 13.5×8µm.
