Interesting find at elevation above 2500’ in old growth forest of mostly hemlock and silver fir.
A few huge doug fir
Cap – 11cm ……stipe 15cm (2.5cm diameter).
Stipe and gills pure white
Volva barely noticeable and tight to stem.
Fascinating cap color of shading between yellow and orange.

North facing slope. Very little rain recently and very few mushrooms showing.

Seemed to be bug free – but with what looks like slug nibbling?
Half of stipe not showing in this picture as it is buried in duff.
