Observation 319942: Porodaedalea Murrill

On shore pine Pinus contorta in wet lowland forest with aspen swamp. Large thin conk. Cap is dark rusty brown, radially zoned, minutely roughened but nothing like P. pini. No longitudinal cracking either. Cap is not hairy, just textured. Pores large, 1-2/mm, angular, not sinuous or daedaloid. Dried to near-black on specimen. Flesh under pore layer is same dark rusty brown as cap.


Pore layer, partly eroded away.
High up on live pine tree.
