Observation 320085: Ganoderma tsugae Murrill

When: 2018-06-15

Collection location: Beltzville State Park, Carbon Co., Pennsylvania, USA [Click for map]

Who: Chris Foss (The Vault Dweller)

No specimen available

Notes:
One week after Observation 318927 I came here to look for more G. tsugae. Although at a week after most of what I find I would expect to be starting to rot (and half of what I found had plenty of insects on them), but there was plenty from the half that wasn’t. I’d like to point out that while the forest from the last observation was decimated from the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid this location is about 40 miles westward and since the infestation is moving from east to west that would suggest this place would be less infested and based upon the conditions of the trees and the much higher abundance of G. tsugae this appears to be true.
