Tiny hump between two tricklets of water – within 2 feet of Gliophorus laeta from previous observation.

Can’t see these looking down – almost have to be viewed from the side to realize they are there. Very dark caps – as contrasted to olivacea from eastern NA.

Harvested for DNA tissue while the little guy was left undisturbed.

Good DNA match to Genbank MG196097

1 bp and 1 questionable indel are all the real differences that separate this DNA from Genbank H. marginata var. olivacea MG196097, also from the type locale (WA), and no competing sequences in Genbank purporting to be this species, and it is a distinctive species, so this ID is likely correct.

I have not found the DNA for var. marginata in the west yet, I wonder if this variety is all we actually have.
