Observation 320310: Boletaceae Chevall.

When: 2018-06-20

Collection location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA [Click for map]

Who: Logan Wiedenfeld (LoganW)

No specimen available

Notes:
Growing under live oaks. Stipe seems velvety towards base. I don’t think this is hypocarycinus, though I may have mistook it for that in the past. There does appear to be red punctae on the stipe, however.

I unfortunately do not have it. I may check the spot again tomorrow.

The unknown Boletaceae of Baton Rouge are on a roll. Maybe it’s time for you to start a species list on MO. :-)
