Observation 321130: Amanita abrupta Peck

When: 2018-06-28

Collection location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA [Click for map]

Who: Logan Wiedenfeld (LoganW)

No specimen available

Notes:
Growing at the base of a water oak. Bulb is chiseled and at this point greater in diameter than the caps. The ring is thick and apparently doubled. I don’t know this species well, having never seen it in situ, so I may be off here. There does appear to be some staining on the bulb if the larger fb, which doesn’t fit with abrupta, but I can’t find a better fit.
