Growing under Swamp Chestnut Oak (Q. michauxii); mature specimen. Viscid when wet, tuberculate towards margin. Grey/buff/tan, speckled with orange/red/cinnamon spots. Stem smooth, white becoming very hollow and cavernous. Odor weak, farinaceous.
