Collection location: Rogue River-Siskiyou NF near Prospect, Jackson Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]
Growing out of the base of an old mossy stump.
Caps up to 9.6 cm across.
Spore print light orange.
Most spores dextrinoid.
Spores ~ 6.1-7.4 X 4.0-4.4(5.0) microns, ellipsoid to elongate with suprahylar depression.
I did not detect a strong odor.
With the yellowish gills and orangish spores, these seem to be R. maculata var. scorzonerea, but the spore shape isn’t as round as reported in the limited references I found.
