Observation 321530: Boletus L. sect. Boletus

When: 2018-07-01

Collection location: Hempstead, Texas, USA [Click for map]

Who: Logan Wiedenfeld (LoganW)

No specimen available

Notes:
Growing under live oaks. Most of the larger fruiting bodies were buggy, but the one button was firm and had stuffed pores. Stipes are bulbous and reticulate.

I suspect this is the same taxon found recently by Alexey in College Station, Texas. Hempstead is just up the road.

The context looks blue here. It is not. An effect of the glare, I suspect.
